Some material relating to Bayes' Theorem

Sensitivity.jpg

The graphic on the right illustrates:

Higher Sensitivity gives you fewer false negatives.

Higher Specificity gives you fewer false positives.

Note: There is usually a tradeoff between sensitivity and specificity such that high sensitivity will often give you more false positives, and high specificity will often give you more false negatives. However, this is not always or necessarily the case.
